The theme this year is “America’s National Parks” and when your school participates in our guided educational tours, the students will have the opportunity to complete a “Learning is Fun” activity. The tour will consist of 12 learning stations. Six stations will be in Yesteryear Village where the students will step back in time to learn about Florida’s rich history. The six other tour stations will educate the students about the importance of agriculture in South Florida and its relationship to our economy, environment, health and quality of life. http://www.southfloridafair.com/09_yesteryearvillage.asp will give you more info on what Yesteryear village is all about. It highlights what life was like in Florida from 1895-1945 (the website says 1850-1950 but it changed recently.) In addition, teachers/moms will receive packets of materials and lesson plans to take back to the classroom that will reinforce the activities presented during the tour. Most importantly, the students will complete their “Learning is Fun” activity booklet to enhance their learning experience!
