Olivet Camping Trip

For the past three years, we have had an annual camping trip at Lake Kissimmee State Park. Each year seems to bring more

fun...probably because more families join us! Last year we have over 15 kids riding bikes, hiking, skateboarding, tree climbing,

making smores, and playing badminton. While they were doing these fun activities, the adults certainly enjoyed the time

relaxing together around the campfire!

I didn't get on their site as soon as I should have to have gotten my favorite site; however, there are still some nice sites left

despite the snowbirds being in our state! Here are the details:

When: March 5th - 7th, 2010 (Friday - Sunday)

Where: Lake Kissimmee State Park (15 miles east of Lakeland, about 1 1/2 hours from PSL)

Cost: $20 a night

We have booked site #54 on Loop 2. This campground is wonderful with hiking trails, Florida Cracker Reenactment site,

viewing tower, playground, tons of wildlife - think turkey, deer, hogs, sandhill crane, and wonderful tree climbing! The bathrooms

are clean and have hot water showers. Currently, the following sites are still available for those dates. I have also put

a rating next to the site number that was determined by me during a previous visit. Please don't shoot me if you disagree! (I

base it on space, solitude, trees, wildlife potential.) I know that it is hard to know if you are free during those dates since they

are so far away. If you wait to find out, you won't have any luck getting a site. It is worth risking a cancellation fee of $7.50

by reserving now! (Many sites are large enough to accommodate 2 tents.)
